McLaren reveals a special M7A-inspired F1 livery for Monaco, aiming for strong results with Norris and Piastri in 2025.
McLaren F1 will sport a special livery this weekend in Monaco. The changes are subtle but pay tribute to the M7A, featuring a more classic color split between orange and black, along with white-outlined car numbers.
In collaboration with OKX, one of its main sponsors, the Woking-based team decided to design this livery inspired by the Riviera, according to the team’s press release. The special livery and race suits will also be used next week in Spain.
“We are always proud to celebrate our historical heritage. Working with OKX on this latest livery enhancement is a great way to honor not only that history but also the innovation and forward-thinking spirit that inspire both McLaren and OKX as brands. I’m looking forward to seeing the cars on track over the next two race weekends,” said Louise McEwen, McLaren’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Lando Norris is eager to shine in Monaco this weekend, as the eighth round of the 2025 season gets underway. The British driver hopes to capitalize on some of the recent progress he and the team have made to deliver a strong result.
“I’m really looking forward to being in Monaco this weekend. It’s a place that has seen so many special moments over the years, so it’s always great to race there,” Norris said. “I’ve continued working hard with the team ahead of this weekend to put us in the best possible position to build on the positives from recent races.”
Oscar Piastri, who finished second behind Charles Leclerc last year in the Principality, is aiming for another strong result. “Monaco was a very good weekend for me last year and it’s a track where I’ve had good results throughout my junior formula career.”
The atmosphere and prestige of the Monaco GP provide extra motivation. “It’s always one of the highlights of the calendar and I head into this race determined, hungry, and fully focused on the unique challenge of the famous streets of Monaco.”
Team Principal Andrea Stella remains cautious of McLaren’s rivals after Max Verstappen’s win in Imola. “After a strong start in Imola, we now head to the Monaco Grand Prix, one of the most iconic street circuits on the calendar.”
“We expect competition to be tighter than ever, with possibly a few surprises, as Monaco’s unique characteristics can be rewarding. We remain focused on ourselves and turn our attention to the rest of this triple-header.”
