McLaren reveals its MCL39, showcasing a bold new livery and outlining ambitions for the upcoming F1 season. Expectations are high.

McLaren has officially revealed the striking livery for its 2025 Formula 1 title defence, showcasing a refined yet familiar aesthetic for the MCL39.
The team was the first to run its new challenger, debuting the car in a temporary camouflage livery at Silverstone last Thursday during a media event. However, under F1’s regulations, McLaren had to wait until Tuesday night’s group launch in London to unveil its definitive look for the season.

Team principal Andrea Stella described the MCL39 as “technically innovative,” while emphasizing a sense of continuity in its livery. “We wanted to honour last year’s championship-winning car while integrating new developments,” he explained.
Zak Brown, McLaren’s CEO, highlighted the significance of the moment. “The unveiling of the MCL39’s livery marks another milestone on our journey to the 2025 season. It reflects the tireless work and dedication of the entire team,” he said.
Brown also stressed the importance of long-term stability within the squad. “My focus is on consistency across the board—whether it’s the pitwall, our drivers, or our commercial partnerships. If all goes to plan, you won’t see much change in those areas throughout the rest of the decade,” he stated.
After securing its first constructors’ championship since 1998—and its first F1 title of any kind since Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 triumph—McLaren is setting its sights even higher. While Lando Norris narrowly missed out on the 2024 drivers’ crown to Max Verstappen, Brown made McLaren’s 2025 ambitions crystal clear.
“We’re going for both titles—the constructors’ and the drivers’. Why not aim for a 1-2 finish and let Lando and Oscar decide who’s on top?” he declared.
With a championship-winning foundation and an aggressive mindset, McLaren enters the 2025 season not just as contenders, but as the team to beat.
