Max Verstappen is focused on continuing his winning streak in Qatar, aiming to close the season with another strong result for Red Bull.
Freshly crowned world champion in Las Vegas, Max Verstappen is pleased to have continued an already impressive streak that began in 2021. The Red Bull driver praises his team’s efforts and hopes to finish the season strongly, starting this weekend in Qatar.
“Winning the championship was an incredible moment, and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved as a team and of myself. This victory means a lot to us, and being a four-time world champion is something I never thought possible,” said Verstappen.
“I want to thank everyone who contributed to this success for their support this year. What a season we’ve had. There have been tough moments, but we stuck together, never gave up, and came back stronger, and that’s what makes this season so special.”
“As for Qatar, we remain focused on this race, which will be very sprint-heavy. Of course, the season isn’t over yet, and we want to keep the momentum going and bring as many points as possible for the team.”
Sergio Pérez is trying to stay as positive as possible, but the Mexican had a tough weekend in Las Vegas: “Las Vegas was positive in the sense that we had the pace during the race, and it was good to see that we were able to be more competitive throughout the race.”
“For the last two races, we need to ensure that qualifying works and that the car is consistently in the right window, so we can start where we should on race days.”
“Qatar presents completely different challenges compared to Vegas, so it will be interesting to see how the car behaves on this surface, at entirely different temperatures.”
“The Sprint format means we lose time on track, but I was at the factory with my team this week to make sure we are as well-prepared as possible to start off on the right foot on Friday.”
Additionally, Red Bull confirmed that Max Verstappen will give up his seat to Isack Hadjar for the FP1 of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the season finale. The Frenchman had already driven at Silverstone.
Hadjar could also participate in the young driver tests, as Jake Dennis, the team’s other reserve driver, will be in Brazil for the start of the Formula E season.
