Dr. Helmut Marko reveals details about Audi’s F1 offer to Carlos Sainz, who remains tight-lipped about his future.
Dr. Helmut Marko has continued to disclose possible details of Audi’s offer to Carlos Sainz. The Red Bull motorsport advisor had previously mentioned a lucrative offer, and he now reveals how many seasons the alleged contract covers.
“Listen, Sainz is currently in great form,” said the Austrian. “I think Audi made him a very nice offer for three years, but he needs to make a decision fairly quickly. From our side, we will not make a decision quickly. We will not let ourselves be pressured by such things.”
Sainz has also been linked to Mercedes for 2025, but, as with Red Bull, it might only be a one-year contract. The main party refuses to comment to avoid misrepresentation of his words.
“I will not talk about names because I do not want it to make the headlines, ‘Carlos said this or that’. When I say we have discussed with all the teams, I mean we have discussed with all the teams!” asserts the Spaniard, who is known to have also sounded out teams like Williams.
“I am sure there are very interesting options in the medium to long term that I will consider and am considering. Each option, without a doubt, has its pros and cons. The best part is that all the good options are still there, and we can still consider all of them. But it does not depend only on me.”
“I think this shows how difficult F1 is. Someone who is performing well does not know where he will be racing next year, which does not happen often in other sports. F1 is a unique sport, political, but also exciting. It will be entertaining when Netflix shows what happens.”
