Madrid aims to revolutionize Formula 1, considering a historic night race debut in 2026. The city’s ambition is to host a spectacular urban circuit, offering an unmatched F1 experience in a major European capital.
A delegation from the Spanish capital’s new F1 event for 2026 and beyond was recently in Saudi Arabia to assess logistics.
The representatives concluded that “Jeddah is the ideal place to understand what it takes to host a similar event.”
In January, the organizers of the upcoming Madrid GP stated it would be “the world’s best F1 experience.”
Madrid will be the first modern urban circuit in a major European capital, with the added benefit of potentially being the continent’s first night race.
Other F1 night races are held in Singapore, Bahrain, Qatar, and Las Vegas, while the race in Abu Dhabi takes place at dusk.
