In Mugello, Charles Leclerc completes a significant 120-lap test for Ferrari’s 2025 F1 campaign.
Yesterday, Charles Leclerc completed a new day of Pirelli tyre testing, the first of two planned days at Mugello, the Italian circuit owned by the Scuderia, which hosted a Grand Prix in 2020.
The Italian tyre manufacturer collected additional data for its 2025 compounds, with Leclerc covering 630 kilometres, equivalent to 120 laps.
Comparative tests on different compounds were conducted by Pirelli, Ferrari, and Leclerc for the 2025 constructions.
Data on the hard compound was specifically targeted by Pirelli, with the main goal of understanding how to reduce overheating.
During this fifth Pirelli tyre test of 2024, the afternoon session was affected by wet weather, providing an opportunity to test the new intermediate tyre already seen on the artificially wetted track at Paul Ricard.
This Friday, the SF24 will be driven by Carlos Sainz.
