Leclerc leads Monaco GP practice; Hamilton enjoys iconic street circuit as F1 drivers fine-tune performance ahead of critical qualifying.

Charles Leclerc set the fastest time in both practice sessions of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver, racing at home this weekend, is naturally pleased with such a strong start, despite a collision with Lance Stroll. He remains cautious about the rest of the weekend.

Leclerc Cautious Despite Strong Start

“I’m not convinced yet, Fridays in Monaco are always special, everyone is finding their rhythm, and it’s too early to feel positive about the weekend. Friday went well, though it didn’t start as I wanted with the crash with Lance, but things improved afterwards and the car is performing well,” said Leclerc.

“The one-lap pace was solid, and as I said, whatever tyre compound we used, I felt comfortable and the pace came quickly. Qualifying will be crucial and we’ll need to start at the front if we want a good result.”

Hamilton Embraces Monaco Challenge

Lewis Hamilton is always thrilled to race in Monaco: “Incredible, it’s the best track, the most fun. Every year, it’s amazing, no matter the car. It helps to be in a comfortable and fast car, but with the grip and the speed, it’s so twisty—it’s a privilege to be one of the 20 drivers racing here. I’m so lucky.”

The seven-time world champion then recapped his day: “It went well. FP1 was a challenge with the traffic. FP2 went well, and the car was quick, especially with Charles. But it was a good day.”

“I can still find more with my driving—lines, braking. There are little things here and there, and some subtle changes to make to the car. I won’t be making many changes, just a few small adjustments and that’ll be it.”
