In Monza, Liam Lawson pilots the Red Bull RB20, showcasing his skills in a series of high-stakes F1 trials.
Excitement still hovered over the Monza circuit following Charles Leclerc’s win for Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, as action resumed with three of the teams involved in last weekend’s race back on track for two days.
A tire development test took place yesterday and continues today, with assistance from Mercedes F1 and Red Bull this Tuesday while RB F1 will be in action today.
George Russell was on duty for the Silver Arrows, while Liam Lawson drove for the reigning world champions. The Englishman completed 127 laps, the fastest in 1’20.747, while the New Zealander did 104, besting at 1’22.126.
The two-day program focuses on developing compounds for the next season, and Lawson will continue in action today, this time behind the wheel of the RB F1 VCARB 01. A significant amount of driving for him as more information about his future in F1 is expected later this month.
Pirelli will also work at the Fiorano track, supported by Scuderia Ferrari, with Oliver Bearman driving an SF-24 to work on developing rain tires on an artificially watered track.
