Liam Lawson is determined to score points for RB in the Constructors’ Championship, focusing on delivering strong results for the team.
Liam Lawson had a challenging weekend in Las Vegas, with the RB F1 driver explaining that it was difficult to find the limit throughout the weekend, as the circuit was tough to approach and understand.
“On a unique circuit like this, you experience something you’ve never encountered elsewhere. You have to be on the limit every session, and the mistake I made in qualifying put me in a difficult position during the race,” Lawson said.
Asked about the goals set by Red Bull, the New Zealander was clear: “The clear goal is sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship. For me, that means scoring points, and that’s what I’m focusing on. But those are the expectations of the board.”
Happy to turn the page on Vegas, Lawson is hoping for improvements in Qatar: “We struggled here last year; it wasn’t a great track for us, but the car has changed a lot, and the conditions will be very different, so we’ll have to adapt a bit, but we’re in a good position, the car is in a good window.”
“When you have a bad race and then a long break, it’s not great because you focus on that. We’ll move on, I’ll do the debrief after the season because I know what I need to improve, and being able to focus on another race is a good thing.”
