Lando Norris Triumphs in Singapore, Bests Verstappen

McLaren’s Lando Norris dominates in Singapore, securing a vital victory ahead of Verstappen, narrowing the gap in the standings.

Lando Norris has secured the third Formula 1 victory of his career by clinching the Singapore Grand Prix.

Lando Norris finally managed to convert a pole position into a win at the Singapore Grand Prix, held this Sunday afternoon on the Marina Bay street circuit.

The McLaren driver made an excellent start when the lights went out, leading into the first corner. He was never seriously challenged for the win, evidenced by his monstrous lead of over 20 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, at the finish.

After a somewhat missed opportunity in yesterday’s qualifying, Oscar Piastri limited the damage today by completing the podium, helping McLaren extend their lead over Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.

Behind the leading trio, George Russell secured the fourth-place points in his Mercedes, narrowly beating out Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Starting third on the grid, Lewis Hamilton had to settle for sixth place at the finish.

Carlos Sainz secured seventh place ahead of his compatriot Fernando Alonso, with Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez rounding out the top 10 at this Singapore Grand Prix.

The next Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, USA, on the 20th of October.
