Aston Martin F1 clinches vital points, inching just behind Mercedes, buoyed by Alonso’s spirited drive and strategic team play.

Aston Martin F1 scored an additional eight points at Suzuka, allowing the Silverstone team to remain just one point behind Mercedes, who also scored equally in Japan. Team Principal Mike Krack is pleased with Alonso’s performance, even though Stroll’s poor qualifying left him too far back for points.

“The sixth position was the best possible outcome for us and it’s a solid result,” Krack expressed his satisfaction. “The updates we’ve brought seem to be a positive step forward, and we managed to finish ahead of our closest competitor, Mercedes, securing eight points.”

“Fernando drove exceptionally well and the team executed flawless and consistent pit stops. As for Lance, who was battling with Tsunoda, who started six places ahead of him on the grid after qualifying, the finish wasn’t as good.”

“He fought hard and made some impressive overtakes in the Esses, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get him into the top 10,” continued Krack, outlining the schedule leading up to the next race.

“We now have a short trip back to the Campus at Silverstone, and we’re looking forward to returning to Asia, to Shanghai, for the season’s first Sprint weekend in China.”
