Antonelli: Valentino Rossi’s Support Has Been Unwavering

Kimi Antonelli reveals how Valentino Rossi has been a constant source of support and guidance since the start of his racing career.

Before heading to Japan, Kimi Antonelli spent a memorable day with MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, his fellow Italian and nine-time world champion.

The 18-year-old Mercedes F1 driver joined Rossi for a karting session at the VR46 Academy, which was founded by the iconic rider himself.

“We trained together in karting, and it was really fun,” Antonelli shared with reporters in Suzuka, confirming that the event took place at the Migliaro kart circuit in Italy.

“Vale is such a great person. We had a good laugh, and he shared some funny stories from his MotoGP days. Though, I can’t repeat them now, or else the FIA might not approve of my choice of words!”

Antonelli also mentioned that he plans to attend a few MotoGP races this year, not just to watch but to support the riders from Rossi’s academy.

This wasn’t Antonelli’s first encounter with Rossi, though.

“He’s been a massive support for me from the very beginning,” Antonelli said. “He just told me to keep working hard, have fun, and focus on myself without worrying about anything else. To enjoy the present moment and stay focused.”

“He’s such a great person, and I will always admire him because he’s a true legend in motorsport. It meant a lot that he offered his support.”
