Haas F1’s Hülkenberg praises the iconic Singapore Grand Prix as a yearly highlight, lauding its unique night-time setting.

Nico Hülkenberg is a big fan of the Singapore Grand Prix, the first-ever night race in Formula 1. The Haas F1 driver will wear a special helmet to stand out under the lights, and he is gearing up for a physically demanding weekend.

“Singapore is fabulous and one of the highlights of the year for me. I love the atmosphere and the energy there. It’s the first night race in Formula 1, and I think it’s very special and unique,” Hülkenberg stated.

“I like the track, the challenge it presents, and the physicality of the race, so I’m really looking forward to it. I will wear a different helmet, which will look great at night under the lights, just like the cars. Obviously, I’m going to do my ice baths with Kevin again, so I brought something special to wear!”

Kevin Magnussen is making his return after a race suspension and is pleased to resume in Singapore after missing Baku: “It’s one of my favorite circuits. Street circuits are my favorite category and Singapore is a special track, the first night race.”

“It’s one of the biggest physical challenges of the year, and only Qatar adds to this list. With the heat and humidity, the length of the race, and the fact that you never really get a break during the lap, it’s a constant sequence of turns throughout.”

“I think we have a good car for Singapore; it’s a low-speed circuit and we should be in a good position to be competitive. There have been interesting races in the past, we scored in Singapore last year, so I hope that will happen again.”

Ayao Komatsu, the team director, anticipates a challenge as significant as Baku: “Singapore is yet another challenging street circuit, and I am eager to see Kevin back as he is very strong on this type of circuit and enjoys the challenge. Last year, in a car that wasn’t very competitive, he managed to score a point, so we are looking forward to what he can do.”

“For Nico, the flow of the Marina Bay Street Circuit is better than that of Baku, so he should be in the mix as well. Baku is a low/medium downforce circuit with long straights, and Singapore is more high downforce, so in terms of characteristics, it will be a different challenge. I’m really looking forward to it.”
