Hamilton’s Farewell Mercedes Targets Strong 2024 Finish

Las Vegas Launches Mercedes’ Final Push with Hamilton

19/11/2024

Mercedes F1 eyes a strong finish in 2024 as Hamilton begins his farewell tour, starting with Las Vegas this weekend.

Mercedes F1 approaches the season’s end with little at stake, as its fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship is virtually secured with three races remaining.

Unable to challenge the top three and comfortably ahead of Aston Martin F1, the German team will continue focusing on preparations for the W16 in 2025.

However, starting this weekend in Las Vegas, emotions will run higher as Lewis Hamilton begins his farewell tour with the team.

“We head to Las Vegas ready to tackle the final three races of the season,” said Team Principal Toto Wolff.

“Our focus is on finishing this year as strongly as possible, creating more highlights at the end of 2024, and building momentum for 2025. We look forward to the upcoming races, aiming to conclude our incredible journey with Lewis on a high note.”

“We’re excited to return to Las Vegas. Formula 1 delivered an incredible show last year, with the sight of F1 cars racing down the Strip at night being one of the season’s standout moments.”

“Having the chance to drive at 300 km/h on such an iconic location in a high-performance Mercedes-AMG GT R was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I had the privilege of giving some of our partners high-speed laps, creating an unforgettable experience for both them and myself.”

“The circuit and ambient conditions posed fascinating challenges for drivers and teams alike, resulting in thrilling races and a captivating Grand Prix. I’m confident this year’s event will be even more successful, building on the continued growth, interest, and success of our sport in the United States.”
