Hamilton to Embrace Ferrari’s Culture: Domenicali’s Insight

29/04/2024

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali stresses Lewis Hamilton’s need to assimilate Ferrari’s ethos as he joins in 2025, heralding a new era for both driver and team.

Stefano Domenicali stated that Lewis Hamilton needs to adapt to Ferrari’s mentality when he joins the team in 2025.

Hamilton will join the Italian team next year, thereby ending his long-standing partnership with Mercedes.

The seven-time world champion will team up with Charles Leclerc as he seeks a new challenge after a difficult period. Hamilton has not won a Grand Prix since the end of the 2021 season, with Mercedes falling back in the pecking order since new technical regulations were introduced two years ago.

Domenicali, who served as Ferrari team director from 2008 to 2014, praised Hamilton’s decision as a great story for the sport.

“For us in Formula 1, this is incredible news,” Domenicali said.

“It’s a new opportunity, a new chapter in Lewis’s career, and a new chapter for Ferrari as well.”

“These ingredients have already taken us to 2025, even though we are just at the beginning of the 2024 chapter. I think it will be an incredible story.”

As he aims to succeed in a new organization, Domenicali hinted that Hamilton will experience a different atmosphere from what he is used to.

“Lewis will need to understand the mentality of Maranello and Italy, and I’m sure he is already very curious about that.”

“On the other hand, when such an incredible personality joins a team, especially Ferrari, a lot of focus will be on him.”

“Charles will take this as a new challenge to push himself to be even stronger, so I think everything is positive for the team.”
