Hamilton Feels at Home in Ferrari with Sprint Win in China

22/03/2025

Hamilton delivered a flawless Sprint race in Shanghai, feeling at home in his Ferrari as he claimed his first victory in red.

Lewis Hamilton delivered a confident performance to win the F1 Sprint at the Chinese Grand Prix, marking his first triumph in Ferrari colors—even if it wasn’t a full Grand Prix victory. The British driver was all smiles after the 100km dash.

“I woke up feeling great today. The weather’s been amazing, and the crowd here is just incredible,” Hamilton said after the race. “That first race was tough, and I think people underestimated how challenging it is to adapt to a new team—especially when it comes to communication.”

“But this weekend felt different. Right from the first lap, I felt more at ease in the car. That wasn’t the case back in Melbourne. The mechanics and engineers have done a brilliant job, and the grip here is unbelievable. Managing the tyres was key.”

Now that he’s scored his first Sprint pole and win in Ferrari red, Hamilton sets his sights on qualifying and aiming for a full race victory. And as for the famously passionate tifosi back in Italy?

“I don’t feel pressure,” he said. “I know the tifosi, the fans, and the whole team want to win—it means everything to them. But we’re taking it step by step. There’s still time. This is a marathon, not a Sprint.”
