Hamilton acknowledges his errors in Canada but stays hopeful, despite his teammate securing the podium.
Lewis Hamilton had a possible podium within reach for himself and Mercedes F1 at the Canadian Grand Prix, but a chaotic race ultimately saw his teammate, even more cutting-edge, snatch third place.
“I’m not really different in terms of mindset from yesterday,” he declared post-race.
“This weekend, I’ve delivered a poor performance. Other factors came into play yesterday, mainly myself, and today, it was one of the worst races I’ve ever had, filled with numerous mistakes.”
“Of course, if I had qualified better, I would have been in a stronger position. It’s a car we can compete with, which is really positive for the rest of the season. It’s going to be a tight battle, and if I give it my all, I will achieve better results.”
“I think this weekend, the car was capable of winning, which is a tremendous feeling. We’re going to take the points and keep pushing.”
