Challenging weather in Bahrain disrupted Ferrari’s plans, with Leclerc struggling in tricky conditions while Hamilton focused on refining his SF-25 understanding.
At Ferrari today, Lewis Hamilton completed only a limited number of laps, covering 45 in the morning before handing over the SF-25 to Charles Leclerc, who completed 84, bringing the total to 129 laps (697 kilometers).
Hamilton focused heavily on working with his engineers and on his car, which explains the reduced lap count. Leclerc, meanwhile, carried out a qualifying and race simulation, a program scheduled for Hamilton tomorrow when he will be on track in the afternoon.
“It was another positive day for us in Bahrain. We are making great progress in understanding the SF-25 and learning how to maximize its potential, and reliability has been good so far, which is a really positive sign,” commented Hamilton.
“We couldn’t get as much running as we had hoped due to the weather, but we have more track time tomorrow to work on our program and further improve the car’s comfort. I’m really enjoying working with the team, and we’re all looking forward to the final push tomorrow.”
For Charles Leclerc, “it was more challenging on track today due to unusual weather conditions for Bahrain, with cooler temperatures and even some rain.”
“We completed our planned program, but with rapidly changing conditions, it was difficult to draw many conclusions. Tonight, we are fully focused on analyzing our data and preparing for the final day of testing tomorrow.”
