Lewis Hamilton anticipates a fierce but respectful rivalry with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, admitting challenges will arise despite a smooth start.
Hamilton joked that he and teammate Charles Leclerc would “definitely get into trouble” together during their time at Ferrari.
The Briton revealed that the two had built a positive working relationship ahead of the 2025 F1 season, with “no drama” between them so far. However, if there is a fight for the title and victories, challenges will inevitably arise.
Reports suggest Ferrari is prepared to enforce team orders on Leclerc and Hamilton just a few races into the new season if one driver gains a clear advantage and the championship is at stake.
After his SF-25 shakedown yesterday, Hamilton shared his expectations for his relationship with Leclerc.
“It’s smooth so far. Working with Charles, there has been no drama.”
“Obviously, I knew I was coming here, but even before it was announced, Charles and I were always talking during race weekends, and I think there has always been a shared and mutual respect between us.”
“We both knew early on that we shared certain interests. He loves playing the piano—he’s certainly better than me—but we both enjoy music and fashion.”
“Outside the racing world, we have things to talk about, and we really get along well.”
“Last year, we spent a few evenings together at different races and had a great time. We’re going to have fun during our time here. But I know we’re definitely going to get into trouble.”
“Charles is only 27, and he’s probably more mature than I was at that age. It won’t be easy to beat him, especially since this is already his home.”
“But during this shakedown, just working together has been a pleasure.”
“I know that this year, for sure, we’ll push each other and move forward together as teammates, trying to bring this team to the top.”
