Aston Martin strengthens its engineering team, hiring Haas F1 veteran Gary Gannon, previously partnered with Grosjean, Schumacher, and Hulkenberg.
Aston Martin F1 has hired one of the paddock’s prominent figures, Gary Gannon, former race engineer at Haas F1 for Romain Grosjean, Mick Schumacher, and Nico Hulkenberg.
Gannon, who left Haas after 10 seasons, has already started working at Aston Martin in recent days, taking on the role of senior race engineer.
The Silverstone-based team has not confirmed whether Gannon will work with Fernando Alonso or Lance Stroll for the upcoming 2025 season.
Alonso has been working with Chris Cronin since joining the team in 2023, while Stroll has been paired with Ben Michell since 2021.
Cronin previously worked with Sebastian Vettel during his two years with the team, while Michell began his career in MotoGP before transitioning to F1 with Caterham and later Toro Rosso.
Gannon is a seasoned F1 veteran who began his career in 2011 with Marussia before joining Haas F1 for their inaugural season in 2016.
He was initially partnered with Romain Grosjean until the latter’s severe crash at the Bahrain GP in 2020. Gannon then worked with Mick Schumacher in 2021 and 2022 before Nico Hulkenberg replaced Schumacher in 2023, spending two seasons working with Gannon.
