Haas F1 shines in Austria, securing 12 crucial points as Hulkenberg and Magnussen finish impressively at Spielberg.
What a race for Haas F1! Both drivers, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, maintained an excellent pace and executed a superb undercut strategy to stay in the points. Events at the front further improved their final outcome, securing 6th and 8th positions, yielding a valuable 12 points and overtaking Alpine F1 in the constructors’ championship.
“It was quite the race, especially towards the end when it got so intense,” Hulkenberg grinned.
“It was tough keeping Perez behind in the last two laps. He got ahead, but at turn 3, I let him through, then got DRS, which obviously put me back in front.”
“I’m really pleased; it doubles the points for the team, which helps immensely. I didn’t expect this—an incredible team performance, and I think it’s now confirmed that across all types of tracks, we’re competitive in the midfield, we can fight, and that’s truly great news.”
Kevin Magnussen was also very pleased.
“It was a quiet weekend for me—two qualifying sessions without traffic, two good pit stops during the race, and the strategy was perfect—I couldn’t have asked for better. We can’t rest on our laurels and this result because Silverstone is a challenging track, but it brings us back to 7th place in the constructors’ championship and that makes me very happy for the entire team.”
