The Frenchman managed to push for some quick laps in the VF-25, securing the eighth-fastest time on the final day.
“It was a very busy afternoon, probably the busiest of my life!”
“We did a lot of running again, with long stints and a few shorter ones, which helped me get more familiar with the car. There’s still more performance to unlock, but it was great to be in good conditions, spend time on track with other cars, and run in proper temperatures.”
“It was a very good test on my side, no real issues, and we followed the plan without any problems. I feel really ready to go to Australia.”
For Oliver Bearman, the day was more challenging. In the morning, he lost track time due to a detached engine cover, preventing him from attempting fast laps.
“We leave this test wanting a bit more, that’s for sure.”
“I missed the chance to do low-fuel laps due to some issues we had last night, and this morning, unfortunately, I couldn’t put in the performance runs I was hoping for, which would have really helped me gain confidence in the car.”
“But not everything is negative. The car felt quite good yesterday with a high fuel load, so I’m fairly happy with the overall feeling—just a bit disappointed to have missed those qualifying simulations.”
For team principal Ayao Komatsu, the overall assessment remains positive.
“From day one, Ollie has had good sensations in the car. I think the pace is quite solid, so he has good confidence. That’s a strong starting point.”
“Esteban’s feedback was very good, providing a strong reference for Ollie in terms of tire management.”
“We had a tough morning—it wasn’t enough on our part—but the last two days were quite good, as was this afternoon.”
“With a tight midfield, we’ll need to step up—our direct rivals have clearly found more pace.”
