Haas F1 faced mixed fortunes in Las Vegas qualifying, with Hülkenberg ninth and Magnussen 12th, leaving the team dissatisfied.
Nico Hülkenberg qualified ninth for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, a result that doesn’t help Haas F1 with Yuki Tsunoda taking seventh for RB F1 and Pierre Gasly third for Alpine. The German driver admitted struggling to find his limits on the track.
“On this circuit, you always feel like you could have done better, but it’s tough. With the low-grip feeling, sometimes you push harder, overstep massively, and lose control. It’s a very fine line here, and it’s a challenge for everyone,” Hülkenberg explained.
“Overall, qualifying was decent, but I would’ve liked to be a bit further ahead—I think sixth place was just half a tenth away—which would’ve made me happier. Still, we’ll aim for a good race tomorrow. We have a strong car for the race, so I’m optimistic.”
Kevin Magnussen was frustrated after failing to reach Q3 and finishing 12th in qualifying: “There were decent laps, but we didn’t have the pace we needed in practice. It’s a bit of a question mark.”
“I expected us to be the best of the rest, and suddenly I found myself behind a few others without understanding why. We can still score points from 12th. The race will be long, and it’s far from over.”
