Haas F1 enters the new season with confidence, as Komatsu believes last year’s late-season surge proves the team’s growing competitiveness.
So, this Tuesday evening in London, the new VF-25 was unveiled to the public.
The VF-25 had already completed its first laps at Silverstone last Sunday during a shakedown… but this initial test was closed to the public. We were therefore able to properly discover the new Haas F1 livery.
The livery features more white than last year, with white sidepods bearing a black Haas logo. The nose will also be white, while only the engine cover and the upper part of the nose will be black.
Gene Haas, the team owner, who is usually discreet or even withdrawn, personally took the opportunity to congratulate his team on its debut.
“We had a very encouraging year in 2024, so I’m naturally eager to see further progress this season with the VF-25,” said Gene Haas, President of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, during the launch.
“The team really came together last year, both on and off the track, and now we have two new drivers, Esteban (Ocon) and Ollie (Bearman), to integrate into the team, hoping they will help us stay on the right path. It was exciting to see the developments made last season, and I trust this momentum will continue to build and translate into further performance gains.”
Praised by his boss, Ayao Komatsu, the team principal, believes that morale within Haas F1 is at an all-time high, especially after a strong end to last season thanks to the upgrades.
“Our motivation levels have never been higher heading into a brand-new season.”
“Fighting for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship until the final round in 2024 was an incredible experience—the level of development we achieved throughout the year was unprecedented in our history. Entering our tenth season in Formula 1 with the belief that we can be competitive, and with a team that has bonded as strongly as it has, makes me personally very excited about what we can accomplish with the VF-25.”
Komatsu confirms that Haas opted for evolution rather than revolution in the design of its car, a logical approach ahead of major regulatory changes.
“All our teams, whether in Kannapolis, Banbury, or Maranello, have worked tirelessly to ensure we are ready from the start of the season in Bahrain. Our design office in Italy, led by Andrea De Zordo, has worked relentlessly to develop the successful VF-24 concept and its upgrades, leveraging them in the design of the VF-25.”
“We are all eager to get started with Esteban (Ocon) and Ollie (Bearman) and to accumulate mileage before the first Grand Prix in Australia next month.”
MoneyGram benefits from sponsoring Haas F1
Haas F1’s progress is also good news for its title sponsor, MoneyGram, which sees its return on investment increasing.
“As we enter our third year as the title partner of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, it remains just as exciting to see the MoneyGram brand proudly displayed on the VF-25,” said Greg Hall, Chief Marketing Officer of MoneyGram, the team’s title sponsor.
“This journey alongside the team has been truly remarkable—together, we have reached new heights and forged strong, meaningful connections with our customers and fans. We have built something truly special, and we can’t wait for this new season.”
