Haas F1 concludes a difficult triple-header in Barcelona

Haas F1 finishes a challenging Spanish Grand Prix, with Bearman and Ocon struggling for pace after a demanding F1 triple-header run.

It was a race to forget for Haas F1 in Barcelona. Both drivers, Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman, finished at the back of the pack and well out of the points.

This Spanish Grand Prix did not go according to plan, according to the Briton, who was classified last, behind his teammate.

“Everything was going well, but unfortunately, we couldn’t fight for points today,” said Bearman.

“I think we made progress this weekend and the car felt better today than it did on Friday and Saturday over the long runs, which is a positive. Unfortunately, we lost some ground under the safety car, which was a shame. We struggled a bit more to find the rhythm this weekend compared to others, but overall, we delivered a solid performance over this triple-header, and I think there’s a lot we can learn.”

Ocon was unable to attempt much in Spain and is choosing to look ahead.

“We stayed out on worn tyres under the safety car because we would have been at the very back anyway, and it just wasn’t worth it. It’s the end of the triple-header and there were positives and challenges, but thank you to the team for the support they’ve given us over these three weeks.”

“I think it’s a good thing we’re now heading into a week where we can analyze the situation and hopefully come back stronger. The positive was Monaco, and now we’re going to Canada, another street circuit, where we’re looking forward to getting back on track.”

Team Principal Ayao Komatsu admitted, “It wasn’t a very good day today, the car just wasn’t really fast, and I don’t think we managed the operational side very well either.”

“It’s not just about today, what happened today also stems from Friday. So we really need to think about how to refine our operations, optimize the car, make better use of our drivers, and work together more effectively. We’ll reflect on that and try to do better in Montreal.”
