Ocon Urges Haas to Build on Stunning F1 Turnaround

30/03/2025

Esteban Ocon praises Haas’ rapid rise and calls for focus, believing the team has only scratched the surface of its potential.

Esteban Ocon is feeling optimistic about Haas F1’s recent step forward, hoping the momentum from the second race of the season can carry on.

After a tough start in Australia, seeing improvement so soon has been a welcome surprise for the French driver.

“We need to stay at the top of our game,” Ocon said. “We’re only two races in, and we’ve already been at the back, in the middle, and now close to the front. So the confidence isn’t fully there yet.”

The key, he insists, is to focus inward. “We have to keep our heads down, work on our own performance, and make the most of what we have. I believe there’s still more potential in this car, that’s exciting.”

Ocon Hails Haas Team Effort

Ocon praised the team’s relentless effort to turn things around, echoing what team principal Ayao Komatsu said after the first two rounds. “Not long ago, we were dead last in Melbourne. It looked tough. We barely slept or ate, Ayao wasn’t joking about that.”

“But it paid off. We took the time to really dig into the car’s performance and figure out what was holding us back. We knew there was more to unlock, and it’s great to see we’re heading in the right direction.”

He described the recent race as a major milestone: “It’s honestly an incredible turnaround. I’m proud of everyone, both at the factory in Maranello and at Banbury. The effort they’ve put in has been outstanding.”

Ocon also gave a shoutout to teammate Ollie Bearman, whose alternate strategy paid off big.

“He wasn’t in an easy spot, but managed to bring home points, which is huge for us. It shows how strong the team can be when everything clicks.”

“And hopefully,” Ocon added, “this is just the beginning.”
