McLaren F1 challenges Norris’s Austin penalty, citing new evidence in a formal review request to the FIA stewards.
The FIA announced Thursday in Mexico that the stewards have received a request for a right of review from McLaren F1 regarding the penalty issued to Lando Norris. The team invokes Article 14 of the International Sporting Code to make this request.
Team representatives will participate in a videoconference with the stewards at 2:30 p.m. Mexico time on Friday, or 10:30 p.m. in France. As usual, the hearing will have two parts.
The first part will determine if the new evidence is indeed “relevant” and provides “a new element that was unavailable to the complainant at the time of the original decision.”
If the stewards find this to be the case, they may then set a date for a second hearing, during which they will review the evidence with McLaren representatives, and likely those of Red Bull.
