Ferrari’s Strategic Triumph at Suzuka: Vasseur Elated

In a remarkable display of strategy and skill, Ferrari clinches a podium spot at Suzuka, signaling significant progress this season.

Fred Vasseur is pleased with the Sunday at Suzuka. The Ferrari director saw one of his cars make it to the podium, and the Scuderia has been consistently present at the start of this season. The Frenchman is delighted to see the team’s results affirm the progress felt.

“Our team worked in a calm and focused manner at Suzuka to achieve its goals. We made a significant step forward this winter, and it’s evident on the track,” Vasseur is pleased to say. “We had a very solid Sunday, securing the best possible outcome after challenging qualifications the day before.”

“This is indeed something we must work on. The team did everything perfectly during the race, from strategy to tire management. Both drivers did an excellent job managing their respective strategies.”

Sainz had more leeway strategically, but Leclerc made a one-stop strategy work: “With Carlos starting closer to the front, we could be more aggressive so he would finish on a shorter stint, achieving several superb overtakes.”

“We were a bit more limited with Charles, as he started eighth on the grid, but he managed an excellent first stint, so we could execute a one-stop strategy that allowed him to gain a lot of places.”

“Given the outcome, it’s clear there’s still room for improvement if we want to put Red Bull under pressure, and that’s what we’d like to do starting from the next round in China.”
