Ferrari’s Resilience Impresses Vasseur After Setbacks

Vasseur Hails Ferrari’s Unity Amid 2024 Challenges

31/12/2024

Fred Vasseur lauds Ferrari’s strong cohesion in 2024, highlighting their impressive recovery from mid-season struggles and near-title achievement.

Vasseur, Scuderia Ferrari’s team principal, admits being impressed by his team and Ferrari’s overall response to challenges in 2024. The team managed to rebound from a series of disappointing races after Canada and Spain, ultimately coming very close to the title.

Not only did this demonstrate a solid understanding of the car’s issues, but it also, according to him, reflected a cultural shift within Maranello.

“I think the team’s approach this year has been very good, even during difficult months like June and July,” the Frenchman shares.

“The double DNF in Canada and upgrades that didn’t work as expected could have been demoralizing.”

“The team’s reaction as a group was excellent. We never blame anyone or any department; we work together to come back, we work together to find solutions across different groups, and it paid off.”

“Of course, you can always say it would have been better not to have problems, but I think the reaction was strong, and this is also what we expect for the future if we want to fight for the championship. That kind of unity and cohesion is part of what we aim to build.”

“When you try to set a goal for the team, it’s to work as a team, act as a team, and not blame anyone when problems arise. It’s easy to say, but not easy to do when you’re under the pressure of results and racing.”

“I wasn’t here before—I can’t judge the past—but I was very proud of the team’s response this year.”
