Ferrari Reveals Livery for Italian Grand Prix at Monza This Weekend Following the black suits seen yesterday, some anticipated a completely black livery for Scuderia’s home race.
Of course, this is not the case, as red continues to dominate the Ferrari livery, as seen earlier in Miami this season, in Las Vegas last year, or even at the last two Italian Grands Prix.
This time, the changes are even more subtle, with the SF-24 adorned with black numbers and a carbon-colored lower fin on the front wing. It’s a celebration of this crucial material for safety in F1 that Scuderia wanted to highlight at home.
Ferrari notes that carbon fiber was first produced in 1958 in the United States and further developed in Japan until its initial use in 1982 by Scuderia to strengthen the aluminum chassis of its 126 C2.
The following year saw the debut of the first carbon monocoque on the 126 C3, and Ferrari notes that carbon then became a predominant material in the bodywork, suspension, and gearbox protection.
The helmets of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will also feature sections showing the bare carbon. This is a joint initiative with their helmet supplier, Bell. Yellow will be the only other color on their helmets, celebrating the colors of Ferrari and Modena.
