Fred Vasseur praises Ferrari’s mid-season form as F1 pauses, positioning them alongside Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes in a tight championship race.
Fred Vasseur Expresses Satisfaction with Ferrari’s Current F1 Standings
Fred Vasseur has acknowledged being quite pleased with Ferrari’s position as Formula 1 enters its summer break. He believes that the Scuderia is competitively matched with Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes F1. To quantify the progress made by Ferrari, he cited several impressive statistics, although he conceded that a battle for the world title is not currently in the cards for Ferrari given the current trends.
Vasseur commented, “I think it’s true that we had the first part of the season up until China where Red Bull was dominant.”
“Following that, we experienced a strong phase with two or three victories, then it was McLaren’s turn, and now Mercedes is in the spotlight.”
“I believe the four teams have performed similarly. It’s rare that after 12 or 13 races, you have four teams in a position to win the championship.”
“I’m not a big fan of statistics, but we’ve scored something like 60% more points than this time last year after 12 races or so. And we’ve cut the gap to Red Bull by a quarter.”
