Santander set to leave Ferrari as Sainz exits, yet may remain within F1’s sphere.
A major Spanish sponsor will depart Ferrari alongside Carlos Sainz at the end of the year.
Spanish bank Banco Santander has supported the Maranello-based team throughout its tenure with Fernando Alonso, and subsequently after signing Sainz.
Sainz will be replaced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton starting in 2025.
Lorenzo Giorgetti, Ferrari’s Director of Competition Revenue, stated, “As our fruitful partnership with Santander draws to a close, we wish to express our appreciation for their dedication and collaboration throughout our shared journey.”
“They have played a significant role in contributing to our achievements over the past three years.”
“We are very grateful to Ferrari for the work we have accomplished together over the past three years,” added Juan Manuel Cendoya, Vice President of Santander Spain.
He hinted that Santander might not completely exit Formula 1.
“Sponsorship plays a crucial role in attracting customers and strengthening our brand, and we will continue to work in this area in the coming years.”
