Ferrari Prepares as Hamilton Joins for Fiorano Debut

Lewis Hamilton will officially debut with Ferrari next week, marking a monumental chapter in his Formula 1 career.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will make his highly anticipated official debut at Maranello and Fiorano “next week.”

The seven-time world champion will begin in the simulator at Ferrari’s Italian headquarters on Monday before taking to the adjacent Fiorano test track in a 2022 single-seater in the following days, depending on weather conditions, for three days with the F1-75. Local police anticipate a massive influx of fans in the area.

“Lewis Hamilton will be with us next week,” Vigna said during the presentation of a new sponsorship deal with Italian bank Unicredit.

“Many people will gather around Fiorano, we know that. We are prepared for almost anything, but not everything, yet we will ensure this doesn’t disrupt the town too much.”

Unicredit’s sponsorship replaces the deal with Spanish bank Santander, which followed Carlos Sainz to Williams.

“This is a partnership we wanted to announce just before Hamilton’s arrival, focusing on the people at the heart of our businesses and the communities around us.”

Regarding Hamilton’s debut with Ferrari, “it’s clear there’s great anticipation.”

“There is a lot of excitement and a strong desire to get started. We are finalizing the last details.”

Vigna noted he was personally inspired by Hamilton’s motivation to switch Formula 1 teams.

“At 40 years old, he wants to return to the center of the game and has embraced a culture that, in many ways, differs from the Anglo-Saxon one.”
