Aston Martin closes a tough season on a high note, scoring key points in Abu Dhabi and reflecting on midfield battles.
Aston Martin F1 finished ninth in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso scoring two additional points for the team. Team principal Mike Krack views this as a positive conclusion to a challenging season.
“A long season ends in Abu Dhabi. We secured fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship,” said the Luxembourger. “There are still positives to take from this year, especially given the intense midfield battle.”
“In Abu Dhabi, we leave with a few hard-fought points for Fernando – a small reward for everyone’s efforts at Silverstone and on the track,” Krack continued, while explaining Lance Stroll’s disappointing result and praising McLaren.
“Lance fought well but didn’t have the advantage of running in clean air like Fernando, making it tougher in traffic and for tire management. He executed a decisive move on Yuki [Tsunoda] towards the end of the race.”
“Congratulations to McLaren on their Constructors’ Championship – they’ve had an incredible season. I want to thank our drivers, the trackside team, the factory staff, our partners, colleagues, and fans. They drive Aston Martin F1 forward, and it’s a privilege to be part of this great team.”
