Formula 1’s commercial future is locked in as all teams sign the new Concorde Agreement—now, the FIA’s approval remains the last step.
All 10 Formula 1 teams have signed the latest edition of the Concorde Agreement, a crucial deal that commits them to the championship from 2026 to 2030. However, the FIA has yet to sign its part of the agreement.
The Concorde Agreement is a three-way pact between the teams, the FIA, and Formula One Management (FOM)—the commercial rights holder owned by Liberty Media. It governs key aspects of the sport, ensuring its structure and financial stability.
This agreement consists of two key components:
- The commercial aspect – which binds the teams and FOM, covering revenue distribution, entry fees, and broadcasting rights.
- The governance aspect – which involves the FIA’s role in regulating and overseeing the championship.
At this stage, the teams and FOM have finalized the commercial terms, securing the financial future of the sport. Now, all parties are waiting for the FIA to complete its part of the deal.
With the new agreement set to begin in 2026, this means that Cadillac, the newest team joining F1 that year, has also signed the document.
In an official statement, Formula 1 confirmed:
“Formula 1 can confirm that all teams have signed the 2026 Concorde commercial agreement, ensuring long-term financial stability for the sport.”
“F1 has never been stronger, with all stakeholders benefiting from substantial growth and success. We appreciate the commitment of all teams throughout this process to secure the best future for the sport.”
“The 2026 governance agreement (with the FIA) will be finalized in due course.”
This marks a major step forward for F1’s future, but with the FIA yet to sign, the full agreement is not complete just yet.
