Hamilton is swapping speed for soul—his dream? A hand-crafted F44 Ferrari, rooted in tradition, built for the future.
Lewis Hamilton isn’t just switching teams—he’s stepping into a whole new era. As he prepares to join Ferrari’s F1 squad, the British driver has his sights set on something beyond the racetrack: designing his very own supercar with the Prancing Horse.
And yes, it already has a name—the F44.
Ferrari is more than a Formula 1 powerhouse. It’s a symbol of automotive excellence, crafting some of the most exclusive (and expensive) cars in the world. Their latest hypercar, the F80, recently made headlines—and sold out almost instantly. But for Hamilton, that’s not quite the dream.
Just a month before officially becoming a Ferrari driver, Hamilton posed with a vintage F40 in front of Enzo Ferrari’s historic home. The moment wasn’t just a photo op—it was a hint at what’s to come.
“The last supercar I bought was the AMG One,” Hamilton said. “And honestly, I think that might be my last—for now. I’m not really into buying fast cars these days.”
Instead, he’s been investing in art. “I’ve been discovering amazing artists—especially Black artists. That’s where my energy’s been lately.”
So why return to high-performance cars now?
“Modern cars all kind of look the same to me,” he explained. “They’re missing something. I prefer classics—the sound, the soul, the emotion.”
Enter the Ferrari F40: a raw, iconic machine from the late ‘80s that many fans still consider the ultimate Ferrari. And for Hamilton, it’s the perfect inspiration.
“Joining Ferrari has reignited my love for sports cars. Walking around Maranello, seeing these incredible machines… I’d love to design a Ferrari of my own. I want to build the F44.”
“It’s going to be inspired by the F40—manual gearbox, real driving feel. That’s the dream. I’ll be working on it in the years to come.”
A modern Ferrari with a retro heart? If Hamilton has his way, the F44 could become more than just a concept—it could be a legend in the making.
