Veteran Daniel Juncadella strengthens Aston Martin F1’s simulator program, leveraging previous experience to elevate crucial race-weekend performance parameters.

The Aston Martin F1 team has announced the appointment of Daniel Juncadella as its simulator driver.

The 33-year-old driver has extensive experience in single-seaters and sports cars, having recently raced for TF Sport in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

He has in fact already begun his simulator duties at Silverstone last week during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and has provided support to Aston Martin F1 from the AMR Technology Campus (AMRTC).

Daniel previously worked with the Silverstone-based team as a reserve driver during the 2014 season.

“We are delighted to welcome Daniel to the team. The simulator driver role is important, as his feedback on the simulator will influence car development and our performance on race weekends. He brings a great deal of skill and experience behind the wheel, so we are confident that he will become a valuable asset to us,” commented Team Principal Mike Krack.

Daniel Juncadella added: “I am really happy to join the Aston Martin F1 team as a simulator driver. The AMRTC facilities are truly impressive, and I can see the ambition and determination of everyone involved in this project. I look forward to supporting the team from the campus in the future.”
