Alpine F1 and Esteban Ocon will part ways after the 2024 season, ending a five-year collaboration marked by notable successes.

As reported this morning, Alpine F1 and Esteban Ocon have agreed to part ways upon the conclusion of the French driver’s contract with the team at the end of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship season.

This decision will end a five-year collaboration between the team and Esteban, during which Alpine and Esteban achieved their first Grand Prix victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, a landmark moment for the brand, the team, and Esteban.

During this period, Esteban secured two additional podium finishes: his first in Formula 1 by finishing second at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, and a third place at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. In 2022, he ranked eighth in the Drivers’ Championship, contributing to the team’s fourth-place finish in the Constructors’ standings.

The team intends to continue working diligently with Esteban for the remainder of the 2024 season and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.

The team’s driver line-up for the 2025 season will be announced at a later date.

“Racing for this team in Formula 1 has been a significant chapter in my life. Even though I have been a race driver here for five years, my professional career began at Enstone when I was just a teenager. Therefore, it will always hold a special place for me. We have shared great moments together, as well as some challenging ones, and I am extremely grateful to all team members for these unforgettable times. I will announce my plans very soon, but for now, I am fully focused on this team on track and on the success of the remainder of the season,” confirmed Esteban Ocon.

Team principal Bruno Famin stated, “Firstly, we would like to thank Esteban for his commitment to the team over the past five years. During this time, we celebrated fantastic moments together, with the highlight being a memorable victory at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. We have sixteen races left to contest in 2024 with a clear objective: to continue working tirelessly as a team to achieve the best results on track. We wish Esteban all the best for the next chapter of his career when the time comes.”
