Ferrari Chairman John Elkann uses Lewis Hamilton’s insights to inspire his team, leveraging the racer’s wisdom to fuel Ferrari’s ambitions and drive towards future victories in the competitive F1 landscape.

Although Lewis Hamilton remains a Mercedes driver, Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has quoted the seven-time world champion in a corporate letter as a way to envision future success.

If unable to beat Max Verstappen and Red Bull this season, Hamilton will head to Ferrari in search of an eighth world championship, and Elkann has echoed his words, explaining how his approach can apply to the business world.

In a letter to the shareholders of Exor, the parent investment company of Ferrari where Elkann is CEO, he stated, “Scuderia Ferrari provides a good example of our company’s progress, having started the new F1 season with several podiums.”

“The goal is to continue to grow and to do so day by day, even more so next year when Hamilton, recruited by the chairman, will be at Scuderia in Maranello.”

“With success, it is important to keep in mind the words of Lewis Hamilton: ‘In racing, there are always things to learn, every day. There is always room for improvement, and I think this applies to everything in life.'”

“These words recall Exor’s values: ambition and humility.”

“We look forward to celebrating more victories with clients, fans, and employees, with Benedetto Vigna [Ferrari CEO] and his management team keeping their approach grounded as the prancing horse continues its journey towards electrification while remaining true to its heritage.”

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna confirmed that the team based in Maranello had “more work to do,” despite a good start to the 2024 season.

“We started better than last year, but there is still work to be done and there always will be.”

“The team only had one podium at the same time last year, as well as a single race win all season.”

“The world of competition is like the life of a person accelerated to the maximum—things can change quickly, swinging between good and bad. Stasis does not exist, everything flows quickly.”
