Andretti F1 transitions to Cadillac F1 Team as official filings confirm its 2026 entry plans under the iconic American brand.
The Andretti F1 project has officially been renamed following the proposed 2026 entry of the team as Cadillac F1 Team.
Last month, F1 confirmed its intention to allow a new team to join the grid in just over a year when new technical regulations come into effect.
The plan was initially launched by former F1 driver Michael Andretti, who secured support from General Motors (GM), committed to joining the team as a power unit supplier in 2028.
However, the bid was initially rejected by F1 despite FIA approval, with Andretti invited to reapply in 2028 when GM would be ready to supply an engine.
The project shifted to a 2026 entry after Michael Andretti stepped down as team owner. Dan Towriss took over, and it soon became clear that GM’s desired entry had been approved under the Cadillac name.
Official records from the UK Companies Register confirm that the company has now been renamed Cadillac Formula Racing Limited. Until December 13, it operated as Andretti Racing Limited, the name Ferrari referenced when confirming its agreement to supply power units for the project’s initial years.
