Brazil GP Ocon Ready for Alpine's Challenge in Wild Conditions

Ocon Eyes Alpine’s Comeback Amid Brazil’s Unpredictable Conditions

31/10/2024

Esteban Ocon anticipates a crucial weekend for Alpine, facing resurfaced tracks, a Sprint, and potential rain at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Esteban Ocon remains uncertain whether Alpine F1 can reclaim eighth place from Williams in the championship standings. The French driver is eager to achieve this, but he notes that despite the narrow points margin, there’s still a significant relative difference.

“It will be a tight battle until the end of the championship. Only a few points separate us from Williams, but in terms of percentage, the gap is more substantial. We’ll need to maximise everything on the car and seize opportunities as they come, which will be the deciding factor towards the end,” Ocon stated.

Ocon is confident that the hard work put in over the past two weekends can yield positive results now that he has the car upgrades and no longer faces grid penalties: “I gave my all with what I had in the last two races. That effort needs to pay off in a weekend like this.”

“Here, anything can happen with the new asphalt, the Sprint, and possible rain, so we’ll give our maximum effort and hope opportunities arise. It’s been a challenging season, and we’ll do our best to optimise everything.”
