Brad Pitt stars in F1, a high-octane racing film shot during real Grand Prix events, final trailer sets the tone.
The official Formula 1 movie ”simply titled F1‘‘ has released its final trailer ahead of its global premiere next month.
Starring Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, the film follows a retired F1 driver who makes a dramatic return to the sport. He’s paired with rookie teammate Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris, as they race for the fictional APX GP team.
What sets F1 apart is its authenticity. The movie was shot at real Grand Prix events during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, across several iconic circuits.

The trailer blends Hollywood with real-world racing action, showing APX cars seamlessly integrated alongside actual F1 teams like Red Bull at Silverstone, Aston Martin at Monza, and Ferrari at Yas Marina. Eagle-eyed fans will even spot real incidents, such as the dramatic first-lap crash at the 2023 Mexican Grand Prix that ended Sergio Perez’s race on home soil.
Some scenes were also filmed at McLaren’s headquarters in Woking. The trailer gives us glimpses of Joshua Pearce in training, as well as a press conference scene filmed with the fictional team.
