Bearman Preps for Sprint Test on Unfamiliar Miami Track

Young Brit Oliver Bearman gears up for Miami, facing a new circuit and Sprint format with confidence built on solid early performances.

Oliver Bearman faces a big challenge as he takes on a new track and a Sprint weekend all at once. But the young Brit is confident and eager to build on a promising start to the season.

“This is my first time racing in Miami, and the paddock is already buzzing. I’m looking forward to getting on track,” Bearman said. “It’s another new circuit and a Sprint weekend too, but China showed we can adapt quickly. I’m hoping for more of the same here.”

Reflecting on recent races, Bearman sees steady progress.

“The triple-header went well overall. Saudi Arabia was a bit up and down, but we learned a lot about the car. That should help us this weekend.”

On the other side of the garage, Esteban Ocon is excited to be racing in Miami, not just because of the atmosphere or his special-edition helmet this weekend, but because it’s Haas F1’s first race on home turf. Driving for an American team in the United States adds a unique energy, and Ocon is embracing it fully.

“It’s great to be here. Miami is an awesome addition to the calendar,” Ocon said. “If you’d told us a few years ago we’d be racing here regularly, we’d have jumped at the chance, and now it’s a reality.”

While the team’s home race brings extra attention, Ocon remains clear on the main objective: performance on track.

“We’ve seen some of our partners and had a busy start to the week, but the focus is racing. That’s why we’re here. I can’t wait to get in the car.”

With just one practice session before the Sprint format kicks in, getting up to speed quickly will be critical.

“It’s important to be sharp from the first lap. Sprint weekends give us limited time to fine-tune the car, so you need to be in the rhythm right away. We’ve had time to review the last triple-header and draw some good lessons from it.”
