Kiz Charlotte KentOllie Bearman’s flawless debut at Ferrari garners high praise from F1’s George Russell and peers, surpassing expectations.
George Russell did not hide his admiration for Ollie Bearman’s racing debut, who mastered his weekend at Ferrari flawlessly. The Mercedes F1 driver expected more challenges from his young compatriot.
“He did an extraordinary job,” Russell stated. “Arriving at a circuit like Jeddah is extremely difficult, and he surpassed everyone’s expectations. I had followed him briefly in the past, but I think he surprised a lot of people.”
“He was clearly confident from the start, pushing the car to its limits. So yes, hats off to him for the work he’s done, and I expect to see him on the grid next year or the year after.”
Russell’s teammate, Lewis Hamilton, also had praise for the young driver: “The Ferrari is very strong, but being put directly into a Ferrari here, a top team, and having to go straight to testing without long stints, he did a phenomenal job today and this weekend.”
Highlighting the strength of the Ferrari as well, Lando Norris remains impressed by Bearman: “Ollie had a good race, the Ferrari is a very strong car, but the fact that he got in and achieved such results on his first weekend is quite impressive.”
Norris’s teammate, Oscar Piastri, joins in the previous comments: “A very, very impressive job. It’s clear the Ferrari is a good car. But to do his first race here without having tested the hard tire before, he did a very good job, and I think he can be very proud.”
