Oliver Bearman vows relentless pursuit of a Ferrari F1 seat, driven by a personal promise to reclaim his place in red.
Bearman has vowed to return to Ferrari in the near future if his stint with Haas F1 proves successful.
The British driver, a member of the Ferrari Academy, impressed the F1 world during his stand-in appearances this season, notably replacing Carlos Sainz in Saudi Arabia when the Spaniard underwent emergency appendicitis surgery. His first two Grands Prix with Haas F1, filling in for Kevin Magnussen (suspended for one race and unwell for another), further cemented his reputation as a promising rookie.
Bearman revealed, “I made a promise to myself: to come back and race in F1 with Scuderia Ferrari.”
“For me, growing up and racing with Ferrari has been the greatest pride of my career. I hope to wear red again very soon.”
He acknowledges that “the immediate future revolves around Lewis and Charles. But I have a few years to learn with Haas F1.”
Reflecting on his first day at Ferrari’s Maranello factory, Bearman added, “I remember it like it was yesterday.”
“The way the entire town revolves around Ferrari is incredible to see. That day, we saw the Fiorano circuit and the Scuderia’s headquarters.”
“I remember looking around, dreaming of driving on that track wearing the Prancing Horse emblem, and thinking that if I performed well and worked harder than anyone else, I could make it happen.”
