Aston's Q3 Success Alonso Stroll in Top Form

Alonso, Stroll Thrilled with Q3 Show, Eye Podium

20/07/2024

Alonso and Stroll are poised for a strong showing at the Hungaroring after a stellar Q3 outing with the AMR24.

The Aston Martin F1 team, featuring Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, delivered a commendable performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifiers.

Both drivers will occupy the fourth row on the starting grid tomorrow, commending the effective adjustments made since yesterday to the evolved AMR24 introduced at the Hungaroring.

“I think we should be pleased with our seventh and eighth positions today and having both cars in the top 10,” remarked Alonso.

“We’ve made a few changes to the car this weekend, and it appears to have boosted our competitiveness so far.”

“We also made some overnight adjustments to the settings to accommodate the new package, and it has performed well.”

“The conditions were quite challenging, with a bit of rain in the air, and there was some confusion at the end of the session during the red flag. Points are awarded tomorrow, so let’s see if we can secure a good race result.”

Lance Stroll was equally satisfied, performing on par with his teammate.

“It’s great that we managed to get both cars through to Q3 in Hungary.”

“The team made some setting changes overnight, but the drop in track temperature also seemed to help us.”

“Q1 was quite interesting: I was in 16th place with the rain falling, but we bounced back, and I managed a good lap as the track dried. That’s why we love mixed conditions in qualifying!”

“In Q3, we saw rain on the radar, so we opted to use the new tyres for the first run. It wasn’t the cleanest lap of my session, but we can fight for points from 8th place.”

“The entire team has worked hard to implement these updates on the car, so we’ll try to keep this momentum in tomorrow’s race.”
