Adrian Newey’s clandestine visit to Aston Martin F1 with Lawrence Stroll stirs speculation in the racing world.
Aston Martin F1 is indeed on the list of teams that could attract Adrian Newey.
The F1 design genius will leave Red Bull after the first quarter of 2025 and will be immediately available for a new team, a significant asset for the future F1 cars of 2026.
Ferrari has long been considered his most likely future team, but Aston Martin F1 is also in the running.
Newey has had discussions with Lawrence Stroll, the billionaire owner of the team, report The Times and The Telegraph.
Newey also had a private tour of the Aston Martin F1 facilities at Silverstone, a visit they hoped to keep secret but he was spotted by several people.
Lawrence Stroll had already made a very lucrative offer to Newey at the time of the Saudi Arabian GP, but Newey had not yet confirmed his upcoming departure.
Besides Ferrari and Aston Martin F1, Mercedes and McLaren are also interested in Newey’s services, but things have progressed less – at least publicly – on that front.
