Lance Stroll’s stellar drive in Melbourne secures crucial points for Aston Martin, fueling momentum ahead of the next Grand Prix.
Aston Martin F1 capitalized on the tricky conditions at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, where the race unfolded on a wet and slippery track for much of the event.
Lance Stroll delivered an impressive performance, securing a strong 6th-place finish. Team Principal Andy Cowell was quick to praise his efforts.
“Eight points for Lance—what a fantastic start to the season!” Cowell stated.
“The conditions were incredibly tough for everyone, but he put in a brilliant drive, climbing from P13 to P6. He made the most of every opportunity and didn’t put a wheel wrong the entire race.”
“Our pit wall strategy was spot on, and the team executed flawlessly.”
The downside of the race, however, was Fernando Alonso’s unfortunate crash.
“We had a great chance to score points with both cars, but Fernando was unlucky—he hit some gravel coming out of Turn 6, which sent him into the wall on Lap 33.”
“Still, this result gives us a solid boost heading into China. There’s no doubt we need to keep pushing to improve the car as we tackle the long season ahead.”
