Felipe Drugovich and Jak Crawford completed a combined 255 laps for Aston Martin F1 during the Abu Dhabi post-season test.
Aston Martin F1 concluded its 2024 season today with the post-season test in Abu Dhabi, completing over 250 laps at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Test and reserve driver Felipe Drugovich took the wheel of the AMR24 for the Pirelli tire test following his FP1 outing at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Meanwhile, young development driver Jak Crawford, who recently finished fifth in the Formula 2 season, piloted the second AMR24 assigned to the annual young driver test.
By the end of the session, Drugovich had completed 146 laps, gaining insights into the 2025 Pirelli tires set to be used in next season’s Formula 1 campaign. Crawford logged 109 laps, executing a variety of long runs and performance tests with different setups as he adapted to the AMR24.
“It’s always great to have the chance to drive the AMR24 and build on what I’ve learned this season. We covered a lot of mileage today—it was physical but enjoyable. We tested the 2025 Pirelli tires, which are slightly different from this year’s compounds. It was good to feel them, and I hope the data helps the team over the winter as we prepare for next season,” said Drugovich.
“I’m really happy with how today’s testing went—it was a lot of fun,” added Crawford.
“It had been a while since I last drove an F1 car, and it was my first time in the AMR24, so I spent the initial laps getting up to speed and learning everything. We were able to complete significant running today, logging many laps and gathering valuable data for the team. Thanks to Aston Martin F1 for this opportunity—it was a positive day, and I can’t wait to get back in an F1 car soon.”
