Aston Martin confirms Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne as reserve drivers for the 2025 Formula 1 season, ensuring stability.

The Aston Martin F1 team has confirmed that Felipe Drugovich will remain the team’s test and reserve driver for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

The Brazilian driver has been an integral part of the Aston Martin team since 2022, making significant contributions both on and off the track. Notably, Drugovich has participated in five free practice sessions, three end-of-season tests, and stepped in for an injured Lance Stroll during pre-season testing in Bahrain in 2023.

Alternating with his fellow test and reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne, who has also been confirmed for another season, Drugovich will continue to attend Grands Prix throughout the 2025 season.

“I am obviously very happy to stay with Aston Martin Aramco for a third full season as a test and reserve driver. There is a lot of momentum in this team, and I am excited to see what we can achieve together. The incredible new facilities at AMRTC, including the state-of-the-art simulator, demonstrate the ambition here, and I am determined to be part of Aston Martin Aramco’s long-term success. As always, I want to thank the team for their continued support,” commented Felipe Drugovich.

Mike Krack, the team’s Sporting Director, added: “Felipe has been an essential member of our team since he joined, and we are very pleased to continue working with him in 2025—he is a true asset. His contributions behind the scenes, particularly in the simulator and during testing sessions, have been invaluable, and he never puts a foot wrong behind the wheel. Felipe’s dedication and feedback have played a critical role in our progress, and we are confident he will continue to make a significant impact within our team.”

“We also wish him the best of luck for the upcoming 24 Hours of Daytona.”
